Humans have occupied Ireland for the past 10,000 years, leaving us with a rich legacy of archaeological monuments and landscapes. We work to conserve this unique archaeological heritage.

Call for Historic Towns Research Awards 2015

Last year, the Irish Walled Towns Network created an award scheme to honour students whose dissertation or thesis had skillfully explored issues around making Ireland’s historic towns better places in which to live, work or visit. The quality of applicants was exceptional. The presentations from the resulting conference are available to view on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIKz_D-MJSUlYQCZaVGWZ7CyOUO2NFEPO

Applications are now being sought for this year’s awards. There are two categories. These are best project or thesis by an individual taught masters student and best group project from taught masters students. The awards are open to 2014-2015 students from universities and institutes of technologies located on the island of Ireland.

This is a great opportunity for those wishing to kick start their careers.

Please click on the application form for more information. The closing date for entries is October 12th. If you have any questions please contact Liam Mannix lmannix@heritagecouncil.ie
