Humans have occupied Ireland for the past 10,000 years, leaving us with a rich legacy of archaeological monuments and landscapes. We work to conserve this unique archaeological heritage.

Heritage Council at National Ploughing Championships

The Heritage Council have today announced that they will run an advice clinic on the repair of traditional farm buildings for the duration of the National Ploughing Championships.

The drop in advice clinic will offer conservation advice on typical building issues affecting historic farm buildings. A brochure and short film featuring projects supported under Council’s REPS4 traditional farm buildings grant scheme will be on hand to provide inspiration.

Advice to visitors on architectural heritage, wildlife and archaeology on the farm will also be available, as will information on Council’s grant schemes. For those children and teachers who have just returned to primary school there will be information on the Council’s Heritage in Schools Programme through which a panel of 175 heritage specialists visit schools nationwide, bringing heritage to life in the classroom.

To learn more visit the Heritage Council stand in the Dolmen Arcade, Block 1, Row 27 Stand No: 470.
