Humans have occupied Ireland for the past 10,000 years, leaving us with a rich legacy of archaeological monuments and landscapes. We work to conserve this unique archaeological heritage.

INSTAR Web Archive

An outcome of the Irish National Strategic Archaeological Research (INSTAR) Programme, the INSTAR Web Archive is one of the most important online Irish archaeological information resources currently available. It allows easy access for both professionals and the general public to the most recent archaeological research, which has been supported through the INSTAR Grants Programme. There are up to 100 reports available from 37 different projects, covering the Palaeolithic period right up to the recent past. This resource is a sustainable step towards the implemention of one of the INSTAR Programme’s key aims, to 'disseminate its results to a wide audience'.
