All heritage is local, particularly natural heritage, and local communities are the ultimate custodians of that heritage. The survival of our heritage often depends on action at the local level.

Register Your Event for Heritage Week

The response to the call out for events for this year’s National Heritage Week has been incredible!

Due to this high level of interest from heritage groups the Heritage Council has extended the event registration deadline for the print guide to Sunday 7th June 2015.

Boat trips on the Boyne, High Nelly bike rides,  butter making demonstrations, tours of Victorian Waterworks and copper mines, these are just some of the events that have already been registered for this year’s National Heritage Week which this year shines a light on Ireland’s industrial and design heritage.

While the deadline for inclusion in the National Heritage Week print guide is 7th June 2015, it is possible to submit events to the National Heritage Week’s online listings right up until the 22nd August when the celebrations begin. All events are subject to approval and participants are encouraged to incorporate the industrial heritage theme into their project where possible. Register Now. If you cannot register online, we can send you a registration form by post.
