Ireland’s inland waterways are important parts of our transport and industrial heritage. They hold aesthetic, recreational and spiritual values, as well as important habitats for many forms of wildlife.

Grant Awards for Heritage Management & Conservation Projects Announced

Salthouse and associated quay in Slade, Hook Head, Co Wexford which is receiving funding for a conservation and management plan under the scheme.

The Heritage Council's Heritage Management Grant Scheme opened for applications on 10 December 2013 and closed 15 January 2014.  A total of 329 applications were received through our online grants system.  

Following assessment, a total of  €652,550 was allocated to 144 projects throughout Ireland.
